Version 5.1
Changes made to TEQuote v5.1.5 April 1, 2008
- A new feature has been added to TEQuote to allow establishing a Fixed Price for a Model. Only Models that do not have 'Pick Many' Template choices may use the Fixed Model pricing option. All Template choices must be 'Required' and all Template choices must be selected when quoting the Fixed Price Model. The Prices of the detail items are calculated by allocating the Fixed Price based on the Total Cost of the Model. Optionally, Labor may be priced based on the actual cost of the Labor or a fixed amount or rate. A security setting to 'Modify Fixed Model Prices' has been added to the Group Permissions. When selected, the user can change the Model's price on the Quoted Items grid and the prices of the detail items will be re-allocated. (SIR 988)
- Titles and Totals may now be added to the Suggested Items on a Quote. Prices may be rolled up to the Title records or detailed by the Suggested Items. Titles and Totals will also print on the Quote document for Suggested Items.
- A performance issue Quoting Models with parts that have many attributes has been corrected. A more efficient method to determine which parts should be eliminated from the pick list due to the attributes of the last part selected has been utilized. This reduces the overall time required to display the form for the next choice.
- A problem exporting and importing databases has been corrected in the TEQuote Tool program. Format files have been included in the cab files to define the file layouts of the exported data. When importing, the format files are used to determine if the table structure has changed and move or add the missing fields to the new tables.
- A problem deleting Subscriptions has been corrected in the TEQuote Tool program. When a database was published on a SQL 2000 server and a Subscription was created and then deleted, the Subscriber Server was not deleted with the Subscription on the Publisher.
- A minor problem with using alpa-numeric Customer numbers has been corrected. When a Customer with an alpha-numeric Customer number was added to a Quote. An 'Unable to open recordset, invalid column name' error was generated when attempting to edit the Customer information.
Changes made to TEQuote v5.1.4 January 2, 2008
- A new feature has been added to the Create Quote Document process. You may now elect to Print Only the Title records. Also, the ability to set this feature as a default has been added to the Preferences section.
- A problem moving Items from Quoted to Suggested has been corrected. The error message 'a violation of unique key constraint' would display if the Item selected had already been suggested. (SIR 1721)
- A problem with the TEQuote PDF writer has been corrected. When both Word and PDF Outputs are enabled, neither are Saved and only Word is Viewed, attempts to manually Save the Quote Document from Word to a PDF file generated a file busy error. The registry entry controlling the PDF output is now reset after imaging, allowing the user to specify a file name when manually saving a document.
- A problem editing the Quantity of a Quoted Item has been corrected. If you entered a fractional quantity on the Quote Detail Grid, the quantity was rounded to a whole number in the Quote Detail Parts table.
- Minor problems with replication in the TEQuote Tool program have been corrected. The Create new database script has been updated to include all new data fields from previous updates. Rowguids in databases that were previously Published have been added to the import/export files.
Changes made to TEQuote v5.1.3 October 23, 2007
- Quote Documents can now be output to a non-changeable Adobe Acrobat Document file (PDF). Documents may be automatically viewed and saved as either Word Documents or PDF documents. (SIR 1921)
- TEQuote is now fully integrated with the TEQSoft Report Router program. Quote Documents may be automatically faxed, emailed or archived by the Report Router program. (SIR 1924)
- The functionality to import Customers, Contacts and Parts from text files has been restored to TEQuote. A new wizard has been implemented to import data from a variety of text formats. Options to auto-map fields, create miscellaneous codes, perform destructive verses non-destructive updates, perform Manufacturer cost and price updates, and importing Customers with Contacts have been included. (SIR 1925)
- Defaults for the Quote Document Print Options may now be pre-set. Default options to 'Print Quote Notes', 'Print Quote Titles', 'Print Rolled Up Text' can be pre-set and changed when printing a Quote Document. (SIR 1506)
- A new Microsoft Word bookmark has been added to the bookmarks collection to facilitate printing Vehicle Model Descriptions. A new default Attribute 'VEHDESCRIPTION' has been added to the Attribute table. The bookmark 'aVEHDESCRIPTION' will print the Model description of the quoted Vehicle on the Quote Document. (SIR 1707)
- New options to delete existing data when copying a Part have been added. When copying a Part's Templates or Attributes to an existing Part, the Templates or Attributes of the 'Copy to' Part may be deleted before replacing them with the Templates or Attributes of the 'Copy from' Part. (SIR 1870)
- A problem with filtering Parts based on the Quoted attributes has been corrected. When an Attribute's type was changed from 'Alpha' to 'Numeric', existing attribute values were not formatted or compared correctly. (SIR 1923)
- A problem re-calculating Part's totals has been corrected. When a Custom Formula was based on a calculation using Labor Hours, incorrect Part Totals displayed when navigating from one Part to the next. (SIR 1922)
Changes made to TEQuote v5.1.2 June 27, 2007
- Kit Component parts may now be deleted from a Quote even if its Model or Part Template Sequence is Required. The TEQuote User must have Quote 'Delete Line' permission to delete a Kit Component part. If the Kit is 'Locked', the TEQuote User must also have permission to 'Modify a Locked Kit'. (SIR 1806)
- A problem with the Not setting of Model Attributes has been corrected. Models with multiple negative Attributes were incorrectly eliminated from the valid list of available Models when the Quoted Attribute did not equal one of the Model's Attributes. Models with a single negative Attribute were incorrectly included in the valid list of available Models when the Quoted Attribute did not equal the Model's Attribute. (SIR 1789)
- A problem deleting the default Price Types has been corrected. It was possible to delete the default price types 'Manual' and 'Cost' when there were no Customers or Quotes on file that used the default Price Types. The default Price Types can no longer be deleted. (SIR 1808)
- A problem with the Landed Cost of Parts exported to FACS has been corrected. The Landed Cost of Parts with embedded Labor, Custom and Freight components were overstated when the costs were exported in the same Phase as the Part. (SIR 1796)
- A problem entering new Models has been corrected. When entering a new Model, if you entered the Model name then immediately clicked on the Part field and then clicked on 'Save', an SQL referential integrity error was generated. You can no longer Save a new Model without selecting a Product Type. (SIR 1744)
- A problem renumbering Model Template Sequences has been corrected. If you renumbered a Sequence, the Categories beneath the Sequence were not updated until the 'Save' button was clicked. The Model Template grid is now resorted after renumbering a Sequence. (SIR 1745)
- A problem adding new Branches has been corrected. The new Branch was not added to the Labor Types when the Misc. Codes form was closed before entering a Default Labor Rate for the new Branch. (SIR 1790)
- A problem displaying the selected Subscription database name in TEQuote Tools has been corrected. When adding a new Subscription, the first database in the drop down list displayed as the selected Subscription database, even if it was not selected. (Sir 1809)
Changes made to TEQuote v5.1.1 April 16, 2007
- New options have been added to the TEQuote Report module. Two new controls have been added to the Report Maintenance form, one to select the Paper Size (Letter or Legal), and another to check if the current Report will fit on the selected Paper Size. Also, when Previewing a Report, the Report Width is checked before building the temporary Report Files. These changes were implemented to help eliminate the message 'Report width is larger than paper width.' (SIR 1727)
- A problem creating Bookmark names for TEQuote Attributes has been corrected. Microsoft Word Bookmark names must begin with a letter and contain letters and numbers. You can't include spaces in a bookmark name. However, you can use the underscore character to separate words. All illegal Bookmark characters that are in TEQuote Attribute Names will be replaced with the underscore character in the Bookmark name. For example, the Bookmark for the Attribute 'Rack/Side Height' would be 'aRACK_SIDE_HEIGHT'. (SIR 1737)
- Model Sequence Descriptions have been added to the Exported Quotes file for importing into FACS. The Descriptions are imported as Phase Title records when the Model Sequence is a Title and the Job Order Phase Numbers are the Quote Sequence Numbers (1st Phase set to 0). (SIR 1747)
- A problem rolling up Prices has been corrected. When a Kit was added as a Quoted Item to a Quote and the precision of the selected Price Type was zero, the Labor Hours and Costs of the Kit were rounded to the precision of the Price Type when rolled up. (SIR 1760)
- A problem adding Parts to the Quoted Items has been corrected. When adding a single Part to the Quoted Items, if the Part was a Kit with optional Template selections, the quantities of the optional Parts were extended by the quantity of the last Component Part of the Kit instead of the quantity of the Parent Part. (SIR 1759)
- A problem exporting Quotes to FACS has been corrected. When an FIO Part was added to the Quoted Items and there were no other Parts in the same Sequence on the Quote, the costs and prices of the FIO Part were rolled up to the first Part in the Sequence. Since the first Part was the same Part as the FIO Part, the exported costs and prices were doubled. (SIR 1762)
- New Microsoft Word Bookmarks have been added to print the Manufacturer's Part Number on the Quote Document. 'MfgPart1' will print the Manufacturer Part Number for Quoted Parts, 'MfgPart2' will print the Manufacturer Part Number for Suggested Parts. (SIR 1758)
Changes made to TEQuote v5.1.0 March 19, 2007
- The GL Cost [GC] of TEQuote parts has been added to the Exported Quotes file for importing into FACS. (SIR 1529)
- The Exported Quotes file has been renamed to include the Branch. The file name for exported quotes is the SQL Server Name followed by an underscore character, the TEQuote database name followed by an underscore character, the Branch of the TEQuote User followed by an underscore character, and the Quote ID of the exported quote. All exported quotes will have a file extension of ".TEQ". For example, if your TEQuote database is named "TEQdata" and is located on SQL Server "TermServ1\TEQuote" and the current Branch is "Main" and the exported Quote ID is 123, then the Exported Quotes file would be called "TermServ1TEQuote_TEQdata_Main_123.TEQ".
- A new calculated field 'Landed Cost' has been added to the Total tab on the Parts Master form. Landed Cost is the Total Cost of the Part less any portion of Total Cost that has been distributed to another Part number. (SIR 1697)
- The fields 'PO Required', 'Tax Resale Number', 'Ship Via' and 'Terms' have been included in the export file (Customers.txt) from FACS for import to the Customer table in TEQuote. (SIR 1706)
- A problem in the Quote Reports has been corrected. When selecting by Revision and no Beginning or Ending Revision was entered the error 'The conversion of the varchar value overflowed an INT1 column.' would display. The default range is now set to the correct limits. (SIR 1703)
- A problem editing the Branch Default Labor Rate on the Misc. Codes form has been corrected. A type mismatch error would occur if the rate was entered with a dollar sign.
- The status bar on the Main TEQuote form now displays the Form Name, SQL Server Name, Database Name, User Name and the Branch. Click on Help, About TEQuote to display information about the current version.
- A problem exporting quotes has been corrected. When '1st Phase' is set to 0 on the Custom Fields form, Unknown Parts exported to the last Sequence Number exported. (SIR 1713)
- A problem with the MS bookmarks Material1, ExtMaterial1, Labor1, ExtLabor1, Freight1 and ExtFreight1 has been corrected. When editing a manual or fixed price on the Quoted Items grid, the bookmarks were not recalculated. This also caused problems with the Discount, Taxable Total and Sales Tax for the Quote.
- A problem with setting up new Users has been corrected. When applying the New User's Options, the User name displayed in the User Name drop down list was updated instead of the new User. (SIR 1715)
